#PeakDistrictProud

PEAK DISTRICT NATIONAL PARK AUTHORITY
#PeakDistrictProud is a campaign to re-engage visitors to the Peak District with the Countryside Code; promoting a sense of responsibility and ownership in order to make positive behavioural change.
We refreshed the content of the original code, simplifying and making it easily digestible, concentrating on Peak District specific advice, and created a unique, engaging identity to present this information. The aim of the campaign was to promote a sense of belonging, responsibility, and ownership in order to create positive behaviour change.

For the visual identity, we decided to draw on the wealth of media available and take a collage approach to bringing it all together. From photographs, to drawings, to vintage imagery, we hoped that within each collage visitors would be able to see something relevant to them.
We provided a set of open source assets, which included signage in various sizes, posters, postcards, and assets for social media, for local landowners and stakeholders to then do with as they wished. Before long, signage began to appear on gate-posts all over the Peak District, which was amazing to see! The landowners really embraced the campaign, and we continued to work with the PDNP throughout lockdown; recognising that once everyone was free to visit the area again, these messages of ‘Respect, Protect and Enjoy’ would be more important than ever. The campaign was also a great success on social media, with over 22,000 posts on Instagram using the #PeakDistrictProud hashtag.
